Learning new technology

Okay, you'd think by my age I'd know about my learning style! I guess life is a long learning process! Anyway, after a couple of frustrating evenings trying to comprehend the purpose of flickr and what on earth I'm suppose to do with it, I decided to try it in the morning, when my mind is clearer. I am a better learner in the morning hours. I guess that is why I also enjoy reading in the morning. My mind begins to fade at the end of the day and I lack patience. Yes, patience is definitely important in the process of learning, especially technology. Learning new technology reminds me of puzzles and I don't enjoy puzzles. So when confronted with the thought of a puzzle like task, I start to get blockheaded and revert into a child like attitude that I can't do it. Sometimes I just give up but as long as there is someone else around that I can get some assistance with, I'm okay. Fortunately, I 've been lucky on this task and there have been helpful staff to get me through my minor technology tantrums.

Flickr is an interesting product and I enjoyed looking at cat photography. But personally, I'd rather be out taking a walk, seeing, and experiencing the real world. I can understand if you have an interest in photography, you could share photos with others in the virtual world. What I don't understand is why people display photos of children, when there are so many wackos out there. I tried accessing the different API products but was unsuccessful with mappr. It just didn't open on several attempts. I observed another team member making a magazine cover which was very cute. I don't understand the purpose of creating trading cards, although I have to admit Monica's was very cute.

I guess when it gets down to it, it is good to know what technology is out there but it may not be necessary to my daily life functions. That is probably why some of this stuff frustrates me because it has no relation to my daily needs.

I think I'll stop for now, as I feel like I'm starting to rant and I don't want to go there for now!
